We've had DirecTV for a dozen years now and have had no problems to speak of with it at all. To get the exact same channels we have now with cable was going to cost an arm & a leg, and continues to be $10-20 more a month. And our local cable company is complete unreliable. It's down for a couple hours at least once a month in part or all of the tract.

I have digital cable and am happy with what I get. I'm a soccer fan, and I have five channels that show predominantly soccer, now, so I'm thrilled. There are enough movie channels that I don't need to pay for HBO et. al. and MrsRedPop4 is happy about that.

I have my internet bundled with local cable. Yes I'm spending a touch more than I'd like, but I don't think stelite can come close where I am. Besides, my local cable (Cox) has a sports channel and carries LSU Tiger football replays on Sunday and Wednesday. Doesn't get better than that.

Dish, Directv or cable

I’ve been a DirecTV customer for over 10 years, and prior to that a Dish network, there isn’t much difference, only more channels with Directv, if you can afford it.
Last month after years of premium channels I elected to call it quits, paying nearly over $112. a month. I had enough, time to drop and go basic.
Reason being I found I couldn’t watch everything, I even have DiVo and still not enough time. I got tired of flipping channels, back and forth without watching the entire program.
Sure there were shows, movies I did watch but was it worth it? It was a waste of money and my time.
If you have the time and money, know what you want to watch or record then by all means Go for it!
I enjoyed HBO’s Deadwood the past two years but since HBO screwed up the 3th season.
Kept viewers waiting and waiting, then said they might kill it after the season, that hurt me, I got angry, I just decided pack it in, take a break, summer reading was also gathering dust on coffee table. I don’t want to be at the mercy of cable, Directv or HBO.
Heck they changer me $5.00 just of local channels, want robbery.
Time for us viewers to raise some ruckus, the price does not justify the time.

As Clark Gable once said “Frankly my dear I don’t give a dam!”
