Is it really that great?

I think people have serious misconceptions about medical treatment in prisons. Medical service depts. in prisons are understaffed. It's not as though every (or any) prison has huge staff working 24-7 to take care of prisoner's medical needs. There is an overall lack of HIV and Hepatitis specialists. In fact, some state prisons don't even have specialists at all. This is a serious problem considering that the number of inmates with HIV and/or Hepatitis is growing.

And inmates can be charged for health care - they just can't be denied treatment.
