I have a package of vintage "Johnson's Foot Soap" which is still on the market today. Since it's foot salts it seemed like it couldn't go bad, just maybe less effective. I tried it, and it's actually a SOAK and not a soap, and wow! My feet are so soft! I highly recommend trying it.

Do you have any good vintage tips for pretty feet, especially cures for dry skin?

(Bartenders, I did a search and couldn't find a similar thread, please merge if it exists. Thank you.)

That's easy. Stop wearing high heels and eliminate all refined sugars and dairy products from your diet. (;

Are you sure? These days nearly everything contains sugars. But anyway, milk leads more often to skin problems than sugar. And drinking pure water helps with dry skin, too.

I'm certain. I eat very few processed foods, read all labels and don't eat out often. The only dairy products I consume are small amounts of cheese. I only drink filtered water. I live in Maine where the air gets very dry this time of year.

Wow. I didn't expect this from an American. What about white bread or other products with white flour? For the body it's pretty much the same if you eat sugars or white flour. Both sucks.

ha. Yes, I am not the norm. I do not eat any refined carbs or gluten, so no white flour.

Alkaline bath salts are helpful. They leave the skin very soft. You can also take a foot soak or make a poultice with them. And if you ever have orthopedic foot problems don't believe the orthopedic surgeons that you need surgery. In most cases spiral dynamics are pretty effective. You can even treat hallux valgus with it, and to very good effect.

Haha Miss Bella, when I was in Arizona years ago it was kinda difficult to find something decent to eat. Especially when you're used to eating real bread you can have a hard time in America. :D

Oh, well if you want good food you have to visit civilization! Try New York or LA! Don't judge us based on ARIZONA of all places. Lovely state though. :)

Then you have never been to a Whole Foods. :)

LD

As an AZ native expat to the UK, there are but three things I really miss:

a) TCM (the UK version is utter pants)
b) real thunderstorms
c) Wholefoods and Trader Joe's

We now have a big Wholefoods in South Ken, but I used to have it just up the road! Waaaaaa! (Nor do we get Earth Balance or Vegenaise over here.)

You should use cocoanut oil. Better for you than Earth balance. You can order it online, that's where I get mine. Makes the *best* bread!
Its also amazing for the skin, and feet! :biggrin:
