Pre A-1 knit collar/cuffs leather jackets?

Hello to all, I'm new to the forum and have a question I hope someone here might have the answer too.........Were their any leather flight or motorcycle jackets with knit collars/cuffs before the A-1 jacket? Any information or pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Well yes - the A1 was based on a civilian design with knits that was around for years. It was a common pattern can't give you a maker but I have also seen post World War One golf leather jackets with knits - English in Capeskin.
