These two stamps look very similar - do you think they co-existed, or was there a move from one horizontal to vertical or vice versa?

I have better pics of the 'Standard Quality' hat in a separate thread, if you'd like to replace some/all of the pictures.

Should have better pics of the Playboy Air Light any day now.

Look more similar to mine Special? Without gold and with reed and the placement of the indented line in the sweatband.

I'd say. That embossed logo is so nice! Where have I seen "the Fray" before? Did someone post an old ad with that model before?

There are a few other Stetsons in the same style - Douglas' and Feltfan's I think - with Fray sweats around here.

Nice find, Scott - I've seen that logo on Derby & Bowler sweatbands from the 20's

Where'd you find that one? And, of course, what size is it? :D

DINERMAN!!!

Ok, your hats sir are making my mouth drool all over my key board and then, soon the power in the office will go out because of the massive electrical short that would happen due to the over salivating chops! lol

I must say, I am very impressed with your hats... not to mention everyone else! I'm dead serious, I'm digging this thread... I'm seeing some amazing hats and I am just tickled to see so many 20s and 30s hats! I'll dig up some photos of one of my early Stetson’s... I have a black bowler that I haven't taken photos of but, I have a photo of me wearing the tall crown long hair finish Stetson I have had for several years now.

Now, you forgot to mention something in one of your posts... Not only can you tell the age by the gold/black size tag... but, the NRA (National Recovery Act) tag NEXT TO IT!!! That puts it between '34-'36!

I'll post the one I mentioned in just a few seconds.;)

More detailed photos will come but, these will take care of business till I can dig up the other photos I took. Oh, and it came with the original box too! A cream and dark red box by the way.

Now the famous "Hard boiled" shot! Notice the side dents which are very evident in the late 20s and early 30s on most hats I've seen in photos.
