I am unable to read the LOT number, as it looks faded. I can only make out a '2', but the sweat is so thin, I don't want it to tear. The hat is black, my camera just has issues when it comes to photographing darker shades for some reason.
You can also see the '2' I was referring to in the top left for the partial LOT number.
The sweatband is not original, but other than that, the hat is in immaculate shape! Only a few minor moth nibbles. The color is a light tan with a brown ribbon. Very nice in person! Sadly, I am unable to locate any reorder tag stickers.
I answer emails and curate for this museum in Portland, Oregon.
The gal wanted to know what she had and what it was worth - was in the attic of the house she bought. I contacted a few potential interested parties here and she listed it on ebay anyway. The winning bid belonged to a former member here (long since banned for political rants). He recently listed it on Ebay and I took it home. So its been an interesting and familiar piece. Yes, the ribbon is original!
