...for the safe return of my beloved 1930's cream-striped grey 3-piece suit.

My darling is currently in New York City, in the legendary hands of the Zotta sisters of Alica Zotta Reweaving, a legendary establishment in the trade for the last 70 years.

When I bought it, the suit had a 2" long wear spot in the right knee. My girl told me time and again that no one else would notice it, but every time I crossed my legs, the loose threads seemed to mock me, until I could bear it no longer.

Last week I sent the whole shebang to the Zottas. These ladies are known as highly trained artisans of the highest caliber, and will reweave the damaged area using fabric from the inside of the jacket facing, using the "Tassello" method, which I am told is (hopefully) nothing like the customarily-seen Inweaving. We'll see...

I wish I had a camera to take before-'n'-after photographs, but I am unarmed with such a device here in Frankfurt. In any case, this may take a long, long time and a long, long check, but for those who are interested in miracles or train wrecks, I'll keep you posted, with my beloved as a guinea pig... Ulp!

I wish you the best of luck. I know how scary it can be leaving good clothes with... well, anyone.

I assure you everything will be fine. You obviously chose a good place to send it to. But even so, it is nerve-racking. Good luck :)
