I tried it and just didn’t work for me so I returned it back to the seller. I saw that photo of the right sleeve but once I received it I honestly do not remember seeing a repair or bad spot. Maybe I missed it.
I've been looking hard because I collect these spongy leather beasts, but they really are easy to get around $120-150. Maybe it only shows in the photo. What DIDN"T you like in particular? It would help me. Too short? Too bulky in the mid-section?

I saw several members hear talking about the Natel being well built and thick leather So I took a chance on that one. When I received It all that was true And more. It’s size 50, and the measurements appeared to be what fits me but it was too short And overall too tight for my liking. Also, a thicker quilted lining than I expected, and the same quilt was inside the full length of the sleeves Which would never work in the climate of Central Florida.
I hated to see it go back but just didn’t work. I believe the photo of the sleeve is smudged or something if that’s possible, I did not see anything really wrong overall. But I would ask for another pic if you get that deep into it.

You guys do not want to see my garage.
Dibs lol.

Quite the collections JB. You moving out of the SF-area?
We are looking into Nevada City / Grass Valley in the foothills of the mountains but into a smaller rental until we cash out our present home,
In the higher-end Bay Area Peninsula home resale market it pays to move out of one's home and have it staged prior to placing it on the market. My wife has been in the business for 40 years with an 8-year break while our son and daughter were young
Dad has been a busy beaver power washing, paint touch up gardening small repairs

Wow I just found this thread and it is amazing.

I want to send a special thank you to all the members who shared their collection, it is a very special thing to do collecting all of these jackets so that future generations can and will see and enjoy them.
And obviously it’s not like a celebrity who’s stylist picked up a vintage jacket to look cool at an event, you guys actually know the history that goes into a dying art form.

I buy hope more guys like Dave Himel, Greg Fields, Stu from Lost Worlds, John Chapman, Gary Eastman, Theodoros, Dave Sheely and anyone else whom I missed continue the craft and pass it down so that these jackets can still be made the old fashioned way and never die away.

Great collection, just mind blowing

A little update for my Schott Collection after my previous message a few weeks ago (use the wallpaper for reference :))

SAM_1655.JPG

Here are the Schott 619, brown naked cowhide medium, and the Schott 626VN, black cowhide medium

The 619 is of course quite a beauty with its brown pull up effect, and its slightly creasy look, which photography can't really do justice.

The 626VN is hand vintaged, so it's super pliable and broken in. Grungy, but classy, quite a success. Say Whatever you want about Schott, they still know how to make cool jackets.

And there's been two complements/replacements

SAM_1656.JPG

I first bought the Schott 674 (38) on the left for a song (80 €), but it is quite vintaged. The left front side and sleeve even present the beautiful "ballsack leather" quality sought after by the finest collectors !

But It is a bit short (23 inches in the back). It had a terrible stank and i experimented on it the washing machine exeprience (cold water, delicate program). The result was quite good : the smell is partly gone and the jacket is now less creasy : the corner of the pocket flaps, which curled up heavily in an ugly way, are now kind of of flat !

I also found recently the same jacket at the same size (38) with a longer back (24 inches) in a quasi new condition. The Sherpa is a bit greyish, but, hey, it's OK. It will replace the old one in the civilian uses. I wil keep the old one because it still looks cool in its way, and it will become my go to gardening jacket !

SAM_1657.JPG

On the left is Schott 327 rust in 40. My size is 38 and it is the classic example of "don't buy if it is not your size, dummy !". Because it was definitively too big for me around the chest. It is replaced by the Schott 327 38 (on the right) that fits me much better and that I found recently. The leather is more supple and is more like classic suede than the old one on the left. The one on the left is more rigid, but it has a crazy beautiful bright rust color. Well, it will have to go on Vinted as it really does not flatter my shape at all...

It seems that I missed some new entries during my absence. Very nice and diverse collection! My clear favorites are your Thedi's the Lewis and your new Vanson C2 but I also like your Cal CHP!

Thanks Robbie! I’ve added four more leather jackets this year, the burgundy Thedi, German racer and two Vanson.
The Thedi’s are definitive favourite with the Vanson’s coming in on second place. But I see all of them as keepers tbh

My collection is small these days. These four are it. Possible one more to be added sometime this fall, not sure what or when. Just focused upon enjoying these, 3 of which are cross zips, and the odd Vanson Mark II Sportrider, which is more about the Competition weight leather pre 2000. Don't worry, the "small display" hangers were just there for photos, I have good solid, wide hangers they all hang on normally. :)

Left to Right: Vanson Mark II, Aero Indian Ranger, Just Leathers CHP, Lost Worlds J23

With the angle of the sun, the appearance of each specific type of leather became quite obvious, so I decided to take individual photos of the back of each one next to each other showing the leather used with each one.
