My new Portis from e-Bay arrived today! It was as mint as the seller stated and I like it. The ribbon on the hat is a very deep blue which is easy to see in person but not so easy to see in the photos. Oh yeah, that feather is GONE!

Got it a couple of days ago, and I'd still like to get one with the more plain rosette on the top. This one is in really good shape though. Not especially old, but certainly classic.

ET, you are right about that...but if it was made in Texas it would read, "Laht Wayt"! lol

Maam, they are indeed. It is incredibly thin but with a very pronounced "snap" in the brim.
