Nice pickups

Some really nice pickups here lately. Ignatz, looks like you hit the motherlode on your trip. That hat looks great on Mrs. Ignatz! Best, Sam

I can't shed much light on it, but I can say I have one, too.
Mine is a really great, super dark charcoal gray. It has an underwelt
that is ironed in such a way that it looks almost like a Cavanagh Edge.
Same box, same liner, same tags (except mine is a 7 1/2 Long Oval and
fits me like it was "Custom Made" for my brain pan). Really tough felt,
but kinda nice, in a bullet-proof kinda way. One of my favorite hats for
sitting on the front porch and smoking a cigar... when it's cool enough
to wear such a snug, thick hat. I would not describe mine as light weight.

Enjoy it.

Just got this yesterday through ebay. I have no idea what the style name is or what year it is from, but I Liked the color and the design. It does have a few small pits in the felt (mainly on top), but otherwise is in great condition. It's quite lightweight too.

As for the hat. The style is a c-crown or teardrop. It's a fur-felt, and not a bad quality felt since it is a beaver blend. I have never seen that maker before, so I can't date it too well, but since the leather band is black and not brown, I'm GUESSING it's more recent.

JM, that Bee hat does look very good on you. It looks like a quality item and I think you did quite well to get it.

Two new thin ribbons.

First is a Dobbs Westward.
The flash washed out the color on this picture. It is a medium gray and the band has a slightly purpleish sheen to it.

Disney Fifteen. This is a beauty! It is a shade of peach I've envied since seeing Baron Kurtz's peach Portis.
The felt is very supple and easily takes any shape.

The liner is detached but in pristine condition.

Strangely, nothing came up using the Search feature. I got
those links using Google and "bee site:thefedoralounge.com"

I think there is a four-character minimum for the keyword search feature here, which makes it pretty useless for a minimal word search, such as Bee.:eusa_doh: "Bee Hats" brings up some threads, though.
