That’s a unique find. Very unusual model name.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Flexible" made for Ober Österreich Hutmanufaktur Thom. Janout Linz, F.P. 5 3/4 possibly later 1920s. Ober Österreich Hutmanufaktur Thom. Janout Linz had wholesale and retail locations. At this time they were not a manufacturer. The retail location at Schmidtorstr. 1 is still in business today. It's interesting that I have recently come across a couple of J. Hückel´s Söhne sourced Stiff Felts.

It's part of the cure to try to detox, but when I find similar hats and others the temptation is irresistible

These two aren’t new to me, as I’ve had both in storage for about 4 years.
But y’all haven’t seen them yet.
Too small for me and I’ve toyed with the idea of blocking em up a size to fit me, but just never got around to it, or just didn’t want to mess with these particular beauties.
Too pristine and sweet? That don’t always stop me. Idk.
The Portis is a peach/champagne color that it’s true hue just ain’t right in these pics.
The Richman Brothers is a jobber hat that whoever built/made is a super nice light weight summer felt. Notice the mesh liner and perforated sweat and then the hidden stitching on the very narrow top binding.
Extra posh this casual fedora.

The Richman Bros hat is called, “The Two Ouncer”. After a search I’ve only found one other by that name and it was a Dobbs, so maybe this jobber hat was built by them?

I have many many more hats I’ve had for a long while that you guys haven’t seen, but of those, these are some of the best.
And I’m sure you have plenty we have yet to see…

And, believe it or not, another one in green!
Rehfus fedora in green. Size 56 with the underwelt brim at 6cm and the crom at 10,5cm at the center dent. Attractive shape to this one and an interesting ribbon treatment. Some damage to the brim edge and the reed, but very wearable (if you like green). Don't know about the age, but I have not seen a Rhefus label like this one before.

That being said I'm curious as to the origin of the "counter-clockwise rule". Would this not depend on what direction the hat body was sanded in from the factory? Have all haters unanimously decided to sand their hat bodies counter clockwise? Did not a single one ever sand them clockwise?

According to David Morgan's website and hat care video, which you can find in the link at the bottom, akubra hats should be brushed counter-clockwise both top and bottom. I went through the YT comments to see if anyone had called that out as being wrong, and sure enough there were a couple, to which the David Morgan account replied:

"The hats are turned inside out when the underside of the brim is pounced (sanded) on a spindle so therefore the fibers line up in the same direction top or bottom!"

"Akubra at least turns the hat inside out to pounce so counter clockwise is best top or bottom. - Will"
