That is just beautiful
Looks like you’ve been doing well of late! That’s a good haul. I’ve also had my eye out for a boater, so particularly envious of this one.I already wanted a boater, so now i had the change to buy one. Not in 100% mint condition (picture no 5), but i took the change.
I think it suits me very well haha. Let the summer begin.....

Aha, so that's where it went! Good find, Marcel. Lupo is a nice, but not very consistent, colour on Borsalinos. Sometimes more grey, sometimes more brown.
Could be one those brands that was traded around between manufacturers. I have a Castorino branded hat that was made by Borsalino. Similar with Zenith and Brasiliano as brands: these pop up made by different manufacturers.Castorino in brown from Belgium. I already have a homburg from this brand from great quality, so this one is a great one too.
Unfortunally no label inside.

Congrats on the recent haul, Marcel. Some very nice finds. My favourite is the Boater with its lovely wide ribbon and Bon Ton Ivy sown sweatband. Late 20s early 30s I'd say.I already wanted a boater, so now i had the change to buy one. Not in 100% mint condition (picture no 5), but i took the change.

Congratulations Marcel. A good bunch of hats. Lupo, Borsalino colour is really erratic. I posted one, ten days ago, completely different. It seems Borsalino used that colour for some "wrong" batch was later called "Lupo".Could be one those brands that was traded around between manufacturers. Thanks!!!A nice group of new hats. Well done

Remember to post it in the Boater Faction thread.
Thanks Daniele! Do you know anything about the brand Courtois from Belgium perhaps?Congratulations Marcel. A good bunch of hats. Lupo, Borsalino colour Is really erratic. I posted, one ten days ago, completely different. It seems Borsalino used that colour for some "wrong" batch called It "Lupo". Castorino brand disguise an Italian manufacturer as many others in Europe in those year.
You're welcome, Marcel.Thank you Steve. I had to google what Bon Ton Ivy sown sweatband ment haha lol.
Posted it there too. Very interesting thread, tx.You're welcome, Marcel.
There's a Bon Ton Ivy thread on the FL. Here's the link:

Post your new Boater here, too. The thread's in need of a bump. It has been a while since anyone has posted a find.
I honestly couldn't give you any information, but the hat is very "usual" for the period so it's difficult to give it a paternity. A lot of Italian production starting from the fifties and for about thirty years was branded with "exoteric" brands from all over Europe and also in other parts of the world. The major subcontractors were the hat factories of Monza, but even famous names did not disdain producing for third parties, especially when the hat became unpopular. Thanks Daniele! Do you know anything about the brand Courtois from Belgium perhaps?
Thank you Daniele. I can't find anything also about this brand, only Courtois is still existing. It's an haute couture shop in the middle of Paris. I thought my hat was from Belgium, but now i'm not sure anymore. So maybe it's a French hat?I honestly couldn't give you any information, but the hat is very "usual" for the period so it's difficult to give it a paternity. The accounts had to settle somehow
Fantastico! Keep it only for special eventsHad to go for this one because it's quite unusual to find one.
Fléchet Smart Foulard lords hat in a reddish brown colour called "Diola" (I think). Size 57 with the brim at a good 6cm and the crown at a generous 11,5cm at the center dent. Looks unworn and the felt feels fantastic. Not lightweight at 148 grams and it is large for me being a size 57. I want to keep it, but I don't know if I will.
