Steve, This Homburg is from VEB Vereinigte Hutwerke Guben so DDR / GDR. My guess is 1960s / 1970s.

Echter Borsalino "Export Qualität" "Ecosca ", FP 5 1/2, possibly mid to later 1950s. The "Export Qualität" designation was added in the mid 1950s and eventually "Echter" is dropped. This is a "Camber" form which was typical of the time and place. As expected great Felt quality that easily dry creases. The wind cord is of the old type with a mid width Band and thinner Brim binding. Excellent overall condition.

Beautiful. Looks to be in great condition, like all the hats I see in your amazing collection. What is an old type of wind cord? I don’t see a button, so the only thing I can think of is one with a loop to attach to a button rather than a button to attach to the lapel.

Thanks! Yes, the wind cord doesn't have a button and the cord has no elasticity. What's funny is I don't have an example of a German market Borsalino with a newer type wind cord.

The new hats thread on page two? How did we come to this?
Let's see what the lottery hats did.

Mossant heather looked promising. Turned out to be a size 55 with the overwelt brim at 6cm and the crown at 10cm at the center dent. No labels inside the hat other than a small size label. With some stretching I can just about make it fit, but it still looks too small a hat. Too bad; a nice looking hat, but should have been a size or two bigger (or seven sizes, Brent).

The other one.
Mossant for Sools. Turned out a size 56 (just right!) with the stitched brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm. Very thin and lightweight felt designated Castor Hudson. Weighs 84 grams. The colour is called Charcoal. The brim stitching is the special feature on this one: extremely fine and close to the brim edge.

Really sharp looking hat. Nice match up of Mossant and Sools

A nice surprise this one.
Barbisio fedora in natural or more a cream colour. Size 59 with the raw edge brim a 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Very soft felt with a great hand. No label inside the hat unfortunately. Very odd is the suede finish sweatband. Gorgeous hat, but not my size.

Modern Borsalino fedora in a mirtillo blue, which was a nice surprise, because seller sold it as black to me. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. The liner shows it's been worn, but what can you do? Not vintage Borsalino but it was destined for resale anyway (hence the white background).

Another Borsalino that came with the other one. Also in blue.

Modern Borsalino in blue (no name to the colour). Size 59 with the raw edge brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Striking colour and likely intended for a female. Quality better than the previous one posted, but nowhere near a vintage Borsalino. Off to resale it goes.
