Stetson - Mayser Excellent "Skyway", 57cm possibly late 1950s. There is only one other Stetson - Mayser "Skyway", found by Stefan back in 2021. The black Felt has a very nice finish and is pliable so easily dry creases. The form is "Camber" like so I think it looks better "Brim Up". Mayser acquired the Stetson license for Germany in 1954.

Stetson 3X Beaver. I’m saying 1940s on this beauty. 6 ¼” open crown and 3 ⅜” wide raw edge brim. Great color and it shapes just like a westerns this era should! It even fits; albeit, just a bit snug.

And lastly is a Dobbs Gay Prince. Not sure how I feel about this hat yet. The color is different for me. I don't mind the style. I like my Wormser Gay Cavalier. The Wormser has a much thicker and stiffer felt to it.

2 3/4" whip stitched brim and 4 1/2" crown

Beautiful!
Man, you’ve picked up a load of special hats in the last year or so.

Thanks. Yeah I've been way to busy with hats. I'm really trying to slow down, but I have an addiction.

"We're going to need a bigger boat"
My wife and I have been living in our 500 sf cabin for over a year now. My hats take up the majority of my closet and then some spilled out and others under the bed. Luckily we're planning to build a main house this summer where I'll have more hat space :)

Excellent pickups, Don! Especially this brown GP. Don’t see this color too often. While most of the manufacturers did make a hat with this styling. They didn’t all match the soft velour like felt of the Dobbs Gay Prince. I understand how you might feel a bit though. When I got my first GP, I had imagined from the photos it would be a stiffer sort of western feel. I was very surprised to find the super thin, soft and plush felt when I first held it.

Thanks Joe. I know what you mean. When I first received it, I was a bit disappointed, but I will say that it is light to wear and easy to form.

I'll probably wear it sometime this weekend and see how it feels overall, and I'll get my wife's impressions on it. She hasn't seen it yet at all.
