It's going to take a while to sort through and post the 8 hats that arrived from Volendam today, but here's the one that started this batch off.

A 1930s Stetson Bowler imported by Sools of Paris. Stefan posted extensive photos of this in the Bowler or Derby Hat thread on the 6th of June. So I'll refer you all to that post for further pics.

Hope the Mona Lisa smile on my face shows how so happy I am with this beauty. Thanks again to Stefan for catching this one for me.

New hat day is always exciting, but this new Lords Hat from Mike Miller at NW Hats is kind of special. The household CFO authorized this purchase based on my phenomenal progress in quitting smoking! Still have a smoke every few days, but down from a pack and a half a day, so I feel pretty good about it. This new hat is an homage to Downton Abby, with a distinct brim curl as found in 1920s styles of the Landed Gentry. Finished with a long hair (melusine) aubergine felt, Mike said this is one of the wildest he has created. The crown is a full 5 3/4" (tall) and the curl of the brim is super swoopy. Now, to put together an outfit based on eggplant purple!

Great to see you again, Mike. I have seen a lot of hats, so I'm not impressed easily, but for this one I had the urge to stand up and applaud! What a hat! Absolutely love it. It'll likely make the church ladies faint, so best be careful ;)

Great hat. Mike can do just about anything with a hat these days!

Borsalino Alessandria - Qualitá Superiore

Borsalino Alessandria - Qualitá Superiore
TAR Stratoliner Clone - Silverbelly with gold trim
4 1/2 Crown as shaped - 5 1/4 open
2 5/8 brim with 1/8 gold grosgrain binding
3/8 grosgrain TAR ribbon in a gold color
Wind Trolley

Just when I tell myself no more Silverbelly thin ribbons… Brent @deadlyhandsome alerts me to this beautiful Borsalino Alessandria in a color scheme and price that made me throw that plan right out the window. You really just don’t say no to hats like this one. I love these kind of proportions on a hat and the light Silverbelly felt with the darker sort of gold colored grosgrain thin ribbon and binding make a real nice contrast. It is also appointed with a wind trolley. The felt is thin and dense and creates a nice sharp brim that holds its shape well. The hat brushed up real nice and has plenty of character in its crease as is. A little steam might me in order at some point.. but it is really straight up wear ready.

Unfortunately I did not find any paper labels under the sweat. So unsure on dating one like these.

Thank you to Brent for the heads up on this one for a lightning quick snag.

This is a great addition, Mike! Congrats on the smoking cessation progress too. Just means more money for hats. :)

Another nice find, Brent. Along with Mike's latest it looks like purple is the "it" color.

Some time ago I found a working conformateur in a town in Mexico.
I had it on a shelf in a safe for some time before feeling guilty about having such a coveted piece and not using it, so I offered it to Rick @humanshoes in exchange for the $1000 it cost me and three hats made by him.
He delivered all three, but this is my favorite. Sorry for gushing, but this is a Beauuutiful hat! I just picked up over 100 hats from Texas, and this is the best over all the Daltons, Cavanaghs, Stetsons, Borsalinos, etc.
Phoenix Hat Company Beaver 100. Perfect in every way.
Thank you so much, Rick!
