I just received a new Akubra Federation Deluxe in dark brown today. I liked my moonstone so much I knew I needed another hat to rotate it with. I have a sort of narrow face (and a big head at 61-62 cm hat size), so the first thing I did was trim the brim to around 2 1/4” all around to try and give it a nice 1930s look.

It was a bit nerve racking this time but the sandpaper smoothed out the rough edges. I’m looking forward to wearing it out.

I think you nailed the 30s look very nicely.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Jota" "Seal Velour", 56 cm, possibly late 1930s. This is the 2nd hat from my recent 9 hat find. The Velour is really fantastic (color, finish, hand) and very pliable. The sweatband is textured and is very soft. The tip patch is in mint condition and the hat appears to have been seldom worn. This hat was sold by Julius Reiter Eger / Cheb Czechoslovakia (prior to WWI Austria Hungary).

Just got this one in the mail. Can someone help me date it? Stetson 3x long hair beaver. It’s very soft, malleable, and has a block size 7 1/8 but fits 7 1/4. From Chicago. It’s a fun one! Came in the Royal box

Very nice Jesse! I would put that in the 1920s (or older) with that liner and re-order sticker. Don’t hold me to it ...
Haha Thank you! I was thinking it could be... but then again, the box is possibly from the 40’s. BUT I don’t think it goes with this hat. There’s a piece of tape on the box that says “light grey hat” and this is far from that shade!

I have never seen that kind of size tag paired with that production sticker before.

Stetson 3X beaver homburg in dark brown. Size 7 (56) with the brim at 6cm and the crown 11cm at the center dent. Usually these brown homburgs have a lighter brown colour and I have several of those. I really like this darker shade. It doesn't say St Regis on the sweatband, but the blocknumber is the same: F 296. I think this one is from the early sixties.

Echter Borsalino "Qualità Superiore" "Caffè" "--" "Dragosti", FP 5, possibly late 1930s. This is the 3rd hat of a 9 hat find. The smooth coffee colored Felt is of a medium weight and easily dry creases. Medium width Ribbon with a sporty Bow design. The condition is excellent and it still has the Eulan paper tag. This hat was most likely sold in Eger / Cheb Czechoslovakia (prior to WWI Austria Hungary).
