I've been on the lookout for one of these, but that's hard to do if you live in Europe. Cavanagh hats did not make it across the pond. They were never made under license in Europa and I haven't been able to find any evidence they were imported and sold here. Only thing left to do is throw a line out in the bay and see what somes up. This one did and I was kind of surprised I was able to get it at the low price it went for. It may have had something to do with the fact that it was listed as a bowler. It's not.
Cavanagh in brown, size 7 with the brim a touch under 7cm and the crown at 11,5cm at the pinch. Like new condition and the positive reviews these hats get here are well deserved; this is a very fine hat. From what I've been reading this one can be dated to 1952 or 1953. It came with a box, but that stayed behind in Oregon (thanks, Mike for looking after it for me), because shipping it over seems to require more money that sending over a live kidney.
I have that great feeling again that I could be the only one in the country owning one of these.

Friedrich W. Schneider Köln "Helium", Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 1/4 inches, probably 1950s. Friedrich W. Schneider (F.W.S.) Köln are still in business today and own the Stetson license for Europe. F.W.S. owned many trademarks (see below) going back to Pre WWII.

I'd love to see pics of the hats you've made Joao. I, of course, can't speak to the quality of any other Fepsa felts except the one I have. It's almost "hat ready" just as it is.
I've posted them several times in the "todays hat" thread. I only finished 2 and yes, FEPSA ships the hat bodies almost hat ready. I only sewed the sweatband and shaped it. I think their finish is good enough for me.
I have 2 other hat bodies (a red and a black) I used to test my block because they didn't had at the time what I wanted. I could make a boss of the plains out of those.

Just as I was heading out the door to run some Texas sized errands a package from Deutschland arrived with my new Meyser Menton. a full week early :) Nice surprise, right out of the box took some pics, need to shape it a bit later. Put the old Cabo Straw back on the rack and now heading out rockin' the new Panama. Wow this one is really lightweight.

Good looking hat; a keeper for sure. It’s a shame there isn’t an importer for them here in the US.

Snap! I just bought one here in Denmark. Really loving the look. Congrats to you, too.

Just when I thought I'd never find a "new" vintage hat again, one turned up. I found this Bee Hat Company hat in an Episode store in Copenhagen. The felt is very smooth. I was especially drawn to the tear- drop crease and all the original labels.
The Bee Hat Co was situated in St. Louis, Missouri as was the Famous Barr Co department store.
From the price tag and style, I'm thinking late 40s early 50s.
