You have to see this hat in person to appreciate the various undertones it displays.... blues, grays..., etc. I went to see Mike at NW Hats last Saturday and saw Redfokker's hat before it was finished. Pecan was not the hat I was thinking about we we drove to Eugene, but once I saw Red's hat, that's what I had to have.

A-1 hat skills by Mike, and a great tribute hat for RF!

I think you will find the color versatile. I'm waiting for next week when the temp drops some for it's first outing. 95 degrees today was too hot for felt!

I wore felt this morning, but by 1 pm I was home for lunch and switched to my Panama hat! We're supposed to see 97 here tomorrow!

I have a light brown leather jacket to wear with my NW Hats Pecan fedora...

Thanks, HJ. The felt is incredible and not a mark on it. Slight tear in the sweat but it's soft and pliable. Head shots when the temps here get out of the 90's.

Also, Dlaniger-- congrats on your Optimo! Seems to fit you perfectly. I had a chance last week to stop in to their downtown Chicago store (are there others? I believe they indicated they closed one only a few doors down in order to set up in that location) and the work really was sublime. And the lights and shadows were uber dramatic, so that probably helps!

Yes, they moved down to the corner from the middle of the block. It's a fun shop to visit. The factory is located somewhere in the south side I believe.

Just won this gorgeous Resistol from Miamibruno on the 'bay. 2 3/8 brim, 5 1/2 crown, kitten finish. Cost $11.95 in the '50s. Love it.
