I said I'd post that Supernatural panama in this thread a few minutes ago on the "eBay Hats" thread, well here 'tis. If any of you good people have an idea of when it was made, I'd love to hear; I was thinking '20s or '30s when I bought it.

It has a faint "ghost" of a optimo style ridge running along the length of the crown. Crown height is about 5 1/2 inches, brim is 2 3/4.

A couple shots to show the sweatband. The taped seam makes me tend to think it's a earlier hat.

Thank you. I was concerned about the fit, but it turned out to fit perfectly. I haven't done anything to it, but I give it a little steam just the give the old straw some moisture, though it's not brittle at all.

I had an Adams Skyway in my hands a few months ago. Too small and I sold it on OFAS. it was a nice Strat clone.

Picked up my first "dress" straw (not a "farm" hat). A Dobbs Jamaica from the 1970s I'm guessing -- the store closed in 1980 after nearly 100 years. Sorry for not keeping the back of the brim flipped up in the photos.

I'll try and get a head shot up when it's not so windy.

So -- what is this straw called?

Another 7x Clear Beaver that turned out too big. I found the tag and stuffed sweat after I got home.

Getting hats online is a crapshoot. This one is a hair too small. I don't want to try stretching it because the sweat is already separating in the back. 7-1/8 Dobbs fifteen.
