Picked up this old English boater while in Lancashire last weekend, the ribbon was a complete write-off so I made myself two swappable replacements, in blue and brown, matching the size/style of the original bow... am looking forward to the summer so I can wear it with my seersucker suit and blue/taupe saddle shoes or white Royal Navy bucs...

Lucked out and picked up a nice Resistol San Antonio on the bay for the minimum bid. I wasn't sure it was a San Antone until I received it. These photos are from the seller. I'll post more photos as soon as I can.

The akubra is my widest brim fedora... The bowler is my first bowler and I actually like the small brim..

I enjoy different brim looks.. Kind of change my looks...

Nice but not all hats with cattleman crease are open road. Open road have narrower brim and most of them a bond brim.
I don't like getting expensive hats of unknown quality.

Some nice acquisitions these last few days, everyone. Couple of nice looking Resistols, Rick and Richard. I've got my eye out for a San Antonio if one shows up in my size one of these days.

I received this a while back, just getting around to showing it.

Penney's Marathon in a straw-like material. The "St. Louis Made" addition to the sweat logo is interesting. Felt Marathon hats were made by Lee, most likely at their Danbury, CT factory. I'm curious as to who manufactured these for Penney's. These show up from time to time on Ebay and there is a short thread here on the forum about certain Penney's straw hats, of which this may be one.

It appears to be "weatherized" with a coating of some sort. No idea of the period this was issued, '40s to '50s is a guess. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can weigh in. I particularly like the mesh liner.

For 65USD with shipping I'd thought I'd take a risk.
Sometimes it's too easy to hit the pay now button.
Your hats are very nice by the way, I can not get away with such hat brims w/o looking Amish.
