Picked up his Champ featherweight from the 'Bay this week:

It's a great looking hat in solid condition with lots of character--battle damage includes a moth nip and a missing bow; non-symmetrical pinch provides panache. The stiffness of the felt speaks to a recent clean and reblock, and I'm looking forward to breaking the hat in. Crown height is about 4 1/4 with little rake, and the brim is about 2 1/2.

Nice one Aaron .
Here's an open road in a color I've been searching for and found recently. Was a 1/4 size so I up sized with a new sweat to fit. Real nice felt and condition. Original price tag of 15.

I happened upon a '50s Stetson in a box in Colorado. What a great surprise.

...And it's a twenty-five Open Road.

Just found the first vintage hat that makes me want to take a break from looking for a while.

Incidentally, I don't think you've got a missing bow. None of my Champ featherweights have a bow. The only ones I've seen with a "bow" are those with the stratoliner style ribbons.

Thank you all for the nice compliments, gents. It was a nice feeling when I recognized it as a larger size and again when I tried it on--perfect fit. Later on, I found the label inside that said the size but I already knew I was buying it at that point. There is a tiny storage mark on top but I think I can steam and brush it out. If I can't, I'm not going to worry about it. Otherwise, It doesn't look worn. I'm really happy with the Twenty-five designation and being a labeled OR is icing on the cake.

I've been on holiday for a week so trying to catch up, but sincere thanks again for the positive comments.
