Just bought this Marathon 3X (and 3 other hats) from the original owner's daughter. It came in the original box with the original receipt. Pristine condition. This man loved his hats. It just fits me well. Though I'd love to catch one of those Cavanaghs. Don't have any of those in the arsenal.

this hat is not grey

It's a true taupe, with a little bit o dirt in it. Good amount of brown, and I will replace this pic with better ones in natural daylight soon. It is a resistol beaver twenty kitten finish "Monroe" with a more generous mode edged brim than I've seen in person before. I can tell this will become a fast favorite.

Man I have a ton of catching up to do around here!

Wow, B-man, I like that "Monroe". Bruno, one of my most prized hats is a Marathon, for it is exactly like the hat my grandfather wore, and which I have custody of.

Schoble Homburg

Was the Teal color I hoped/expected from underside photo sliver of felt rather than the bland gray of the overviews in the listing.
The hat was compacted down to fit in a 4" highboy so worse than the ebay photos. Full open crown is 6".

The triangle crease has all the perks of a diamond, while maintaining the high boxy profile of a 30s hat. I'm guessing this is from the 50s?
