Stetson 3X Selv-Edge.

Does anyone know if Selv-Edge is the model name or just noting the type of edge treatment?

Selv-edge refers to the brim edge treatment. The trademark was registered in 1954, but shows a first usage two decades earlier. This hat would be late 50's to 1960 I would guess.

Benedetto Martino from Indianapolis. It's a deep teal green. It's from 1952, there was an old paper used behind the sweat with an ad for "She's Working Her Way Through College" a movie with Virginia Mayo and Ronald Reagan.

Manfred, Again great finds! As I mentioned I believe the Stetson was made by Mayser under license and probably from the late 1950s.

With so many Top Shelf hats today I'm a little embarrassed to offer this, new to me from Etsy, Penny's Marathon. But, it's a nice pecan color, great condition, my size and was too good of a deal to pass up. [huh]

That's a winner. I love that color, have a Borsalino that appears of similar hue myself. It's a very warm color, and makes me seem nicer than I actually am when I wear it.

So today I stop by the local second hand boutique and they had several hats, of the lot I fetched a "Tan" Pilgrim fedora, thin ribbon, Beaver Blend imported fur felt hat. I have seen the name here and there but I don't know much about this maker. Best part although the hat can use a little TLC (nothing major) it was only $12 bucks.
