Yes actually it looks more like glued than sewn. I read somewhere on here that the 50s-60s Selv-edge was "stuck" and stitched, then the stitches were removed. So probably like the mode edge without the felting step. That looks about right. I can't really see any stitches, but if I look real close I can see where stitches might once have been.

Aha, I'd forgotten my own research! I forgot they were a stuck edge. Thanks, that explains what I'm seeing in the photos.

That's really nice! I've been on the lookout for a Knox. Somehow accidentally I seem to have become a Stetson Man. When I was a kid I fancied myself a cowboy, and always wanted a "real Stetson". Now a cowboy hat really doesn't fit my style at all, and while I do love Stetsons, there's no good reason for the fact that all 3 fedoras I own (not counting the panama) are Stetsons. THey just happened to be the hats I found that I liked and could afford.

Anyway ithat Knox is more or less exactly what I'd like to find for myself, except that I already have 2 grey hats, so I'm hoping to find a different color.

I would think lookwise they should be. In the hand though...this is one of the nicest feeling hats I've ever picked up.

Latest find: By pure chance, it's my 2nd German made Chisnall in 2 weeks (the last being a Homburg). I found it at the famous Mauer Park Flohmarkt in Berlin. The colour caught my eye 1st. My images don't do it justice - it's a sort of olive green/brown, but in some lights it leans towards orangey/brown, other times to a more golden colour. Never seen a hat this colour before!

Having a large noggin (size 8), I cannot wear many of the more interesting hats I see on eBay, but here are two that I purchased from a seller in San Francisco. They're very similar, both from Miller Hats:

A "medium brown" fedora...

A nice silver belly color...

Now, if Los Angeles would get some cooler weather!
