Comes with Funeral Band. Really BLACK hat. This time the seller has grossly underestimated the size. Its about a 7-1/2.

RLK, I know that we are not supposed to be jealous of what others have, but, you make it difficult with such a fine hat. Nice.

Mayser Spezial Homburg

I just received this Mayser Spezial Homburg. Turned out to be a size 59cm. It has moth damage especially on the bottom but still a very nice hat. Really like the liner and logo (first one I have of this type). I am thinking early 1950s.

early Navy Blue Stetson long-hair Fedora

Here's the oldest fedora I've personally handled - very early 20th century navy blue long-hair with 'The Fray' sweatband. Missing part of the bow, but no mothing. Also, like most really old Stetsons I've had, bigger than it's tagged size (7 1/8).

Wow! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap I wish I could find a way to date the medal hats, beyond the obvious post-1901, post 1915, etc.

Looks like fine felt and great sweatband. Can you make out the award medallions? Are both for 1900?

The felt is perfect - but different from the long-hair 3X Stetson - hard to describe.

The sweatband is very thin. The medals are the same exact ones that are on Lefty's old black Stetson fedora - only date is 'Paris 1900'. Finding this along with 'the Fray', pushes Fray sweatbands up into the 1900's. I still can't tell what makes a 'Fray' different from other sweatbands.
