this is my new sunbody hat, i blocked "The Whistler" myself during lunch today, added the horse hair hat band. The name of the hat is my own name and i do want to mention its not a model from Sunbody, this is my own style to the blocks and tools in the shop, so if you called asking for "The Whistler" model they'd have no idea what model that is. It is the Oak guatamalan straw, 4 inch brim low crown. I put a telescope crown, the block actually drops just a tad in the back. It was a block that i haven't seen at sunbody, it was on the bottom rack in the back near the wall. We have another telescope block we use right now. I hope you guys like "The Whistler".

The new Federation summer beater hat came today. Work in progress. It’s actually brown but I won’t get to take a pic outside until tomorrow. Trimmed the brim down to 2 1/4” all around.

Hello! You trimmed the brim down to 2 1/4??? That is on the verge of being a "stingy brim"....

I guess you have a "thin" facial build...but that pictured hat looks on you what a 2 1/2 or 5/8 looks on me.

What size hat do you wear (sweat, not brim)?

PS Wife is flying to feed the Loon next week.

My Churchill for Neiman Marcus, is back after a complete rehab by Luke at Ritch Rand. We saved the liner but everything else is replaced. I am pleased, although it is running a bit big and will need some tinkering. Great shade of fawn (last pic tone is out a bit).

Great blocking presentation! I may well call on you for assistance as I bought a Stetson Sovereign felt mate to it early this morning. I'd never seen anything like it and am hoping to be pleasantly surprised when it arrives.

With John Cavanagh Ltd. box. 5-3/4" crown and full brim with narrow binding, likely of the 40's. Lived in humid Florida. The top of the crown was pushed in irregularly so still a bit lumpy. Its a full size 7-1/2.

I was worried about it coming out too stingy, but it seemed to work out OK balance wise. Usually wear a 58, but ordered this one as a 59, soaked it through and then let it sit out in the sun on the porch to dry before I worked on it so I suppose it's somewhere in-between now. Little loose but not too much, stayed on the head despite the wind this afternoon.

Those loons can be mean!
