This Brüder Böhm Wien Melone arrived today. It measures out about 58cm but it needs some conforming. This is the first Brüder Böhm I have come across from the Wien factory. I have a Brüder Böhm Austrian Velour from the Novy Jicin, Czecho Slovakia factory. Also the only one I have been able to find.

Wow, that is quite the tongue-twister of a description... and a spectacular melone inside and out, Steve!

I've had this Stetson OR Deluxe, 2.5" brim, for a couple of weeks. Here's what it looked like when I got it:

And after a little brim snap-and-shape:

I'm still working on conforming it to my head, but it's coming along. Goes well with jeans and a dark shirt, or better jeans and a sportcoat.

Good looking OR Paul. Are going to keep the cattleman's crease?

BR
I dunno. I have another Resistol OR clone in the same color with a wider brim, and it's softer; maybe I'll do that as a fedora. Or maybe I'll get myself that long-overdue Akubra Campdraft and do that one.

The heck of it with ORs in the cattleman style is that, head-on, they look sort of odd to me, and when you turn your head a little the crown appears to slope very strangely. But in profile, darn, that high square shape looks good.

I agree with this and I like that you've gone in the opposite direction of many recreased thin ribbons that appear on the lounge. Life is not a still picture... keep moving and you'll always look grand in that OR!

I have a couple of Stetson ORs and Resistol San Antonio. I intended to keep at least one of them with the cattleman's crease, but just had to change all to fedoras. They just didn't feel right. Hopefully at some point I'll find one that I like with the cattleman's.

Aureliano & Bowlerman, Thanks!

Hut-Schick Wien Melone, measures about 59cm, retail store. From the same seller as the BB Melone.

I don't know why the cattleman's crease doesn't get any love. All three of my ORs are cattleman creases and I like 'em.

Maybe it's a Texas thing...

A few of my westerns have this standard crease or a modified version of it, cutter, arena, etc. I don't care for my snap brims to have it tho. I was at NRHA futurity this past weekend & saw many, many of them but less than 15 other creases, Gus, telescope, Montana peak, etc... none other than alpine in the show pen except for Old West reenactors....

I'm with you on that. I grew up seeing 'em with that crease mostly here in Texas, my father had one with it and it's how I would crease mine as well :) When I've seen 'em done differently they are usually on folks from other parts of the South or East. Keep the faith brother :)
