Great Haul my man!

Josh, a wonderful quartet of hats.

Smokin' acquisitions, Josh!

Thanks Guys!!!! I really have to say that this lot of hats turned out to be so much nicer than the auction pictures showed. When I picked them up from a local seller, he was very nice and really kept the hats very nice. I picked them up in the far south side of Chicago. It was an area that once upon a time was a very well to do and wealthy area. The south side of Chicago used to be a hell of a place......about 50-60 years ago and before.

Collins Wien Salzburg

This is a very nice modern production hat made from a P. & C. Habig block. Collins aquired some of P. & C. Habig's blocks when they went out of business back in the late 1980s. Unfortunately Collins also went out of business a couple years ago. The custom vintage ribbon/double loop bow work is from my friend Herbert Jennissen at Hut Neubarth, Augsburg.

That ribbon is downright gorgeous.

Looks to me the flat, all down brim is the style they gave to the hat. Looks nice in my opinion. You can have it re flanged if you don't like it.

Brilliant Yellow Belfry Tuva

I have a bunch of new or changed hats, so I'm slowly working on an updated post in the Full Hat Collection thread. But here's my favorite example: my new spring/Easter hat.

It arrived from Hats in the Belfry looking like this. They call the style the Belfry Tuva, and have several unconventional colors. This is my hat's true color, all the later pictures wash it out a bit:

But I wanted a bright and slightly fancy hat for Easter, so I changed it to this:

Truth be told, I finished it on Easter. Around 12:30am, to be exact... Here's the inside. The liner makes it a nice spring/mild summer day hat:

On head. It's funny, with the bright color, the hat looks like a bolt of sunshine in any picture taken in sunlight.

It's the perfect style for me, from my favorite color to the brim size. I'm always happy when a passing stranger says they like it. It stands out, and I just hope it does so in a good way.

Picked a couple up over the last couple of weeks.

Master Hatters of Texas panama western from Cowtown Boots in Vegas (incidentally a great all round western store). The sweatband on this is really nice, has a soft, "grippy" texture to it.
