Nice curl on the CW Derby! Looks sharp! Regarding the softness, I am not aware of anyone today being able to produce the felt of vintage Derbies (Bowlers, Melones).
No kidding! Their hat photos seem just as... "period..." as their period photos. That looks a LOT better than what Clearwater's website photos would imply. Congratulations!
Thanks! I think it's very wearable. My western weight wool Knutsen bowler is rather stiff, and I have one in dark moss fur felt from Baron Hats, which they made very stiff after I requested it. Eggplant/Violet...etc. Ribbon is ribbed for your pleasure. Perhaps a "bold look" hat. 5-3/4" x 2-3/4".

My understanding is that it is easy but time consuming. You just have to let the felt age for a half century or so. The Clearwater web site is deplorable but your new hat looks very elegant. I'm glad it worked out for you.
My first homburg. I put the details in the Homburg Nation thread.

I really like this one also. Now just waiting on one straight from Art. Should be soon
Size 59cm with very nice + unique gun metal gray Velour. This one was made in the GDR probably early 1960s.
Thanks, Chinaski. The brim width is actually 2 1/4". I really like this hat - I feel comfortable in it. My wife says I lowered the back too much. It's always something
