Here is the "New Hampton" from Worth & Worth in New York. I ordered this one after drooling over Aureliano's. These hats are posted in the "Panama Canal" thread as well.

Cool photos of hats with cactus. Weren't you concerned about getting sharp spines in your hats? Hopefully, that didn't happen in this case! ;)

2-3/4" circular stitched brim and 5-3/4" crown. Has 7-1/8 R penciled, but the Seller's measurements hold and it fits and sizes as a 7-1/4 LO.

Dobbs Twenty

2-5/8" Guild Edge brim and 5-3/4" crown. Brown balloon size tag.

Both are absolutely as new, no crease marks or flange distortion. Not even dust[huh]
More later on both.

Nice hat with some moth nibbles. Marked 7 3/4, but it seems to have shrunk because it's too small at 22 3/4". It's on the stretcher now, so I'll see how it fits after that.

Mr E, your transition into the realm of the pervasive and ever wonderful fedora is looking good. More importantly that hat is looking good on you and even MORE importantly YOU are making it look GREAT :D

Woody, thanks for the kind words! I do have other fedoras, though, so it's not like this is my first.;) I think it'll look better on me when it's not perched quite so high up on my head.

When I first logged on tonight I thought I smelled smoke. Finally made it to this thread and found the fire.

Wow, guys! :eusa_clap

Yup, I guess the transition is more in my mind than your hatrack lol
I just think of the porkpies and boaters for you... until now ;)

That's probably my hat you're smelling, as it definitely came from a smoking household. ;) Not too bad, though; I've definitely smelled worse. :)

After several hours on the hat jack, the hat is noticeably more comfortable. Not there yet, but getting there. A couple of days of incremental stretching ought to do it.

I took it off the stretcher to test the fit, and I didn't think the bash was quite right, so I rebashed it to suit me better. Since Woody mentioned pork pies, I figured I'd do a sort of pork pie bash with a pinch front. Took me three minutes, no steam, no water.

Now, back on the hat stretcher it goes. :)
