Nice haul, Sue! :eusa_clap

Now, tell me, does your mailman bust your chops about "another hat, huh?...".

Back when I was buying from the Bay our guy used to tease me a little in a good natured way, of course. But I joked back that if he keeps it up I'll start collecting anvils! :D

lol lol
My neighbours once in a while take packages for me from the mailman and they are bustin' my chops about 'another hat dude?..'.. even if it's just a book lol

The mailman's not as bad as the UPS man was when I took advantage of a flood of nice quality and very inexpensive Persian rugs on eBay just after the embargo was lifted. :D Hats weigh ounces. Rugs are heavy! He kept asking if I had all my floors covered yet.

Nice hats, everyone!

rlk, this one looks familiar.

I posted a Barton hat a while back, and that one looks very, very similar. In fact that is the exact same ribbon used, as far as I can tell. I find that interesting, because I thought it was a pretty unusual ribbon when I bought it. When I first saw the pictures, I expected to see "Barton" on the liner.

I live in a small village and of course my post office is the general store at the corner :)
The other day Freda, the postmistress, pointed out that they had just expanded the p.o. and I was making it cramped already :D
I got another 3 today and will get pics etc after christmas.

Season's Greetings all,

Fantastic Portis, Sue! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

The holiday is letting me get caught up a bit with some lids that have arrived over the last few weeks. I picked this up from ScottF, gave it a good brushing, steamed it back into an open crown, and then put a diamond crease in it.

Looks like your lid and this one are the same basic model, complete with similar ribbon treatment. Like the ribbon on my Portis, looks like yours also has the two-texture treatment (more photos in Portis Path thread)...

Yes, indeed. Definitely sibs if not fraternal twins! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I anticipate enjoying mine. Hmmm - that diamond crease looks wonderful ... I'll see if mine wants one.

These four hats arrived today along with the hat stands in the pic, yesterday was the new atv so I spent all day putting that together :eek:fftopic: , and I will work on them and photograph and post properly in the new year. In the meantime...
I am going to be working on hats through most of Jan. I should think and it will be much warmer doing that than most things I can think of around here at this time of year :)

Season's Greetings,

Woody

Very nice haul Scott. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your labor on those!

The postman staggered from his truck today with a pile of boxes for me! (Three, to be precise.) All Borsalinos fished from the bay.

More to come on the Borsalino Brotherhood.

Loved the ones in the "What Hat..." thread. Great shopping. I'll be content until March I guess, although I have noted it becomes easier to give myself a hat advance "credit note" when I look at e-Bay!

Sue -- I am loving this lid! Given the proportions of the crown, I decided to switch the diamond crease to an "elevated center dent." I like the look of this crease better -- lengthens the crown a bit more. ;)
