Very happy with this one! 1940s Royal Stetson in blue. 2-3/4" brim, 5-1/2" open crown. 1-1/8" ribbon width. Wider binding like a Whippet. A large size 7-1/2 ... I'll have to pad it a little.

My first Tumwater and it’s a heartbreaker. Tony made me a good hat, but we knew from the start he would have trouble getting it large enough. It was made on an undersized block with another felt already covering it that we hoped will allow the finished hat to end up as a size 7 ¾. It just didn’t work out and Tony let me keep the hat for free. I hate that as he has a lot of work in it. I’ll be putting it in the classifieds and the proceeds will be sent to Tony. The build quality is impressive. The felt is rabbit and it’s substantial…a winter weight felt. I believe it’s a fraction of a size larger than it measures the open crown is about 5 ¾ inches.

A tribute to Dottor Fernando Brusasca, man of impeccable taste, who left us (me) with these lovely hats. Sized 59 and 60 people here please pay attention as I won't be keeping these.
Barbisio Classic in black. Size 59 (from the measurements) with the raw edge brim at 6cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. This one would work as a brim up hat as well, but for now it's a fedora. Barbisio is about as good as they come and they could give Borsalino (or anyone else) a run for their money. This is certainly made in their heyday. Oozes quality, but the Doctor must have loved this one, because it has been worn, (which is why it comes in number 5 of the lot).

Second one from the doctor.
Borsalino Milan straw. Size 59 with the brim at 5cm and the crown at 11cm. I hardly ever see milan straws by any brand, let alone by Borsalino. Nice lightweight summer hat at 92 grams. Unless someone here really wants it, this one will be going off to a local auction (send me a PM if you want this one).

Now for the top pieces from the doctor's wardrobe.
Stra Barbisio extra lusso homburg in grey. Size 60 with the generous brim at 6,5cm and the crown 12 or 13cm high. I left it open crown because it could well work as an open crown hat as well. Didn't want to spoil it. Everything about this one is Italian hatmaking at its best.

What can be better than that? No matter how fine these hats are, I think this one is nices still (and it is royalty after all).
Barbisio Rex lords hat in black. Size 60 with the raw edge brim at 5cm and the crown at 11,5cm at the center dent. Fairly sure this is a beaver felt, even though it doesn't say so on the hat. The hand and the way it shapes and the smell of it when steaming all says beaver to me. It does have a cord and curiously enough it has a double liner. You can feel there's another liner underneath the top one and you can see the different material in the shot of the label. Must have been done on purpose and the label is on top of both, so not done as a replacement. Style, material, finishing; it's all top notch. Love it.
