Links??I have seen these a few times, but what does it look like on your head? Have a photo of wearing it? Do you leave it open crown when wearing?
No, I haven't taken any pictures wearing it yet. I just finished documenting it for the forum.I have seen these a few times, but what does it look like on your head? Have a photo of wearing it? Do you leave it open crown when wearing?

Don't keep us in suspense too long, Jonathan. You know there are many of us just waiting to see it shaped and on your headNo, I haven't taken any pictures wearing it yet. I just finished documenting it for the forum.
The crown is soft and can be shaped as one desires, including open crown should one so choose. I'll browse through the pre-40s dress hat thread and look through old ads and fashion plates for period correct ideas. Right now I'm thinking just a simple tight center dent with no pinch or perhaps with subtle side dents.
That is one nice looking heather felt Dobbs Pork Pie, Dave. Really like the teardrop bash, too.
1940s (?) Stetson "The Stetson Special". A dark blue with a few moth nips ... nothing major. Thin and almost too easily shaped felt. It's going to look different every time I touch it. Nice underwelt with triple stitching.
Pics after I brushed the first layer of dust off.

That should attract some interest; very nice hat!Another just dusted off fedora. A 1940s (?) Resistol "Pace-setter". A few moth nips, lots of dust and some popped stitches in the sweat. Not my size so if anyone is interested ... reach out.
