Thanks! I seriously can't believe this fell into my lap for the price I paid. After being the only bidder with ten watchers I kept thinking, "I gotta be missing something. What's the catch?" The listing pictures didn't do this hat justice, but it's not like they were terrible either. And I know homburgs aren't as popular as fedoras, but I figured there would still be competition for a vintage Borsalino. As my old boss used to say, have to chalk it to up to good, clean living.
You would've had plenty of competition if I had remembered to set my alarm. [emoji2]

If this has happened on any of my hats I haven't noticed it. But I have noticed...well let me start by saying that if I want the pinch to line up with the nose on my asymmetrical face I have to form it approximately half an inch to the right (my right) of the hat's centerline. Handling them by the pinch causes the pinch to slowly migrate to the left, i.e. back to the hat's centerline. It used to bother me, but I got used to it and accepted it as a fact of life for me. :D
Damn! That was explained well, Z. Same thing happens to me.

Bought this Stetson 3X OR while on vacation. I haven't worked out the vintage just yet but it has the premetric black tag. I think I posted from memory that it was a 7-3/4 but it's actually a 7-7/8 & had some foam shims behind the sweat. Haven't looked for other tags yet.

Also bought this nice older 3X not marked as an OR. Haven't done a tag search yet.

50’s ROGERS PEET (MacLachlan made) SUPERIOR QUALITY

I tried this one on after having it on a band block for a couple of weeks. I was surprised at the quality of the felt, which made me look under the sweatband.
I had forgotten it is made by MacLachlan. They truly were excellent felt makers. The brim snaps beautifully.
Brim up for Bob!

Eagerly been waiting for this Lee homburg (Silver Label) for the past couple days:
IMG_0912.JPG

Due to the weather this had been sitting in the local branch unable to be delivered because of the extreme cold. So close and yet so far. Finally arrived today but about four hours later than normal due to mail backup. The suspense was killing me, but good things come to those who wait.

Special thanks to @deadlyhandsome for this wonderful item and for a smooth transaction!

A real Spaghetti Western. [emoji2]

Before and after pics.
From Borsalino "Safari" to Borsalino "Tom Mix of sorts". Sacrilege?

It was stained, the brim stitching was falling apart, and the sweatband seam was unsewn.
Ignacio wanted to replace it, but I asked him to keep it. It's my only hat originally sold in Nairobi.

He says it's easy to give it its old shape back, but I think I will keep it like this.

I think it still counts as a "safari" hat. Nice save.

Borsalino Cecosca in Narvalo colour. Size 58 with the bound brim at a good 6,5cm and the crown 10cm at the center dent. Lightweight hat at only 95grams and "Insuperabile". Not my size unfortunately, so PM me if you're interested.
