Today I show you the first of a bunch of Borsalino with flaws that need work to be worn
e7gcxd.jpg

Borsalino "Light weight" color is "Rutenio" Qualità Extra Superiore, sold in Salerno.
Very worn, it has a light felt and the sweatband is excellent, the defect is the seams of the brim that are loose
fdrsl5.jpg

For proportions they are: brim at 6 cm. crown at 10.5 cm and the ribbon is 3 cm.
34efdwh.jpg

To improve the erratic size in Borsalino history, this is a 5 1/2 that fir perfectly my 6 1/2 head:rolleyes:
20furs2.jpg

It will go to the construction site in Holland to became a nice and clean Borsalino ready to be worn

It depends on the amount of work of the hatter and her priorities for the season.
I'm never in a hurry, I have to complete the work of sending the photographs of the other hats to work on, I let the hatter decide the time of intervention.
Let's say three months, but I still not have an estimate of the time work by Fleur hatter in Penumbra Hat, my laziness in the Italian summer is a fault

Stored on my back
Max I have so many hats that I should be able to resume a new life at least ten times to consume them all, as long as I still want to wear hats

Stored in The west side of my office plus more in some boxes
Actually they are too many and sometimes I forget some of themo_O

Hopefully I will have your problem one day, Daniele. You being an expert, and living right at the source, I can only begin to imagine the astonishing gems you must have in your collection. Ahhhhhh! Qué exquisito!

Adam Majestic, the first hat I wore from my Moon haul. Fitting, because it was the first hat I specifically asked to buy from him. I find the lines very appealing, and it was the hat least affected by transport to Mexico City.
I did not want to run the risk of my hats being stolen upon arrival, so, to bring them all in the cabin with me, I had to fold almost all of them and put them in my carry-on. It was sacrilege, I know, and very painful, but necessary. I took them out of the carry-on bag immediately I got home, and I will start steaming them back into shape later today.
Any tips on how best to do it? Will they bounce back? I remember Justin saying he was able to steam a hat that was awfully wrinkled in a box back into shape.

My fiddy-dollar O'Farrell arrived. Fits great! No markings behind the sweat band to date it, but probably from the mid-1980s. Feels quite "beavery".

Will probably flatten the brim. With the high fenders it looks a bit too "Freewheelin' Franklin"...

Nice haul Max. Did you by chance buy the Dobb's Westward Anthony had for sale? I inquired but I was too late. :(

I would expect the cellophane to crack before the stitching. Very odd. Great hat though.

No, but I got this Dobbs Cross Country.
The felt is so light and thin! I can barely feel I have a hat on.
Now I know what all the fuss about Vintage is.
I still have to learn how to crease them, though.
