My wife picked up this Pendleton cap for me at an estate sale. Not sure I can pull off the look and I can probably only wear it the week after a fresh haircut as it is snug.
I think it looks good on you Bob. The quality of Pendleton makes it a real keeper, great find on your wife's part.My wife picked up this Pendleton cap for me at an estate sale. Not sure I can pull off the look and I can probably only wear it the week after a fresh haircut as it is snug.

This 7X CB arrived Wed. Gave it a naphtha bath, took first pass at cleaning the liner and stitched up the seam on the sweat. It’s almost presentable. I’ll probably try Scout hat cleaner next.

I haven’t seen a Stetson pin like this before. The hat probably dates from the mid 50s, does Antony know if the pin is more or less the same vintage?

I only like tapered hats. That's why I like Optimos so muchIt appears the "Kemo Sabe" logo on the sweat represents the store the hat was sold through. I don't see that style of Stetson on their website currently, but if you contact them they might be able to provide whatever information you're looking for.
The crown is a little too tapered for my tastes, but otherwise I really like that hat!
Cool looking hat, Richard. To me it's part of the attraction to see if I can get a neglected hat back to glory with some TLC.This 7X CB arrived Wed. What a wonderful finish. The color looks like it will just glow in the sunshine. A showpiece.J. Hückel ´s Söhne "Standard" "Crystal Velour", French Point Size 5 1/2, Brim 2 1/4 inches, Crown Open 6 inches probably 1930s. The overall condition of the hat is near mint condition. The "Crystal Velour" condition, color (light shade of green), finish and hand are fantastic. I think once I can photograph it in natural light the color and finish will better represented. This is definitely one of my better finds in a while.
An example of an early JHS Hat Hanging Cord. Also a unique sweatband. The leather color, finish and hand are fantastic.
Open Crown

This Milan is arriving on Monday. I love it already!
My last pic didn’t post. It’s a better shot of the pin I asked about
Mike, Thank you! I will take some photos outside at some point. What a wonderful finish. The color looks like it will just glow in the sunshine. A showpiece.
ITA, that's a new one. Have not seen this brand lately. Looking forward to Steve's history lesson. Very nice color and finish. Nice hat. Originally high or low end product?esterday I picked up this one (had to leave several interesting German and Austrian hats behind because of wrong size and/or poor condition). This one has a flaw (soiled liner and a smal nick in the sweatband) bit is in great condition otherwise. J. Heinr. ITA, Wien, Super in grey. Size 56 with a bound brim at 6cm and crown 10cm at the pinch. Quality I-ETUI on the label. Don't see that many ITA hats around and I had handled this one before. The liner held me back then, but I stepped over it this time and took it with me.
Having the chance to see this one in person before shipping to Holland, I concur. What a wonderful finish and fantastic gills. This is really a nice hat. Wish it fit me (I tried it on admittedly...), but you look great in it Stefan.Barbisio deserves far more credit than it gets because their hats are very high quality and the variety is stunning. Here is a new one that I added to the collection. Barbisio Titan in chamois finish. Colour is called Terranova and the designation on the liner is Qualitá Superlativa. Sounds about right to me. Raw edge brim at 6,5cm and crown at 10cm at the pinch. The hand of this felt is nothing short of incredible. Very lovely shark gill bow (comparable to the one Bowen posted before).

The ribbon seems to be a match to the brim binding and the wind trolley. I thought the pin was interesting because it is only about 1/8" tall. I've seen others that were about 1/4 on newer hats but I haven't seen one this small before.Does the ribbon seem original to the hat (does it match the brim binding?) I don't believe the pin is from the 1950s, though the hat could be later (1960s) as well. 7Xs stayed pretty luscious into the 1960s though they stiffened up some as time went on. A non-thin ribbon hat is less commonly seen.
I agree. I have two Hat People flat caps made from Pendleton wool, and they keep my head warm on cold nights far better than any of my fur felt hats.Pendleton makes a really really great wool products!!
