Me too Doug! They are my salary along with others showed in the post for my work of evaluation and suggestions to put the treasure to sell on lineWow! Those top 3 Borsalinos really speak to me, especially the light colored one and the brown one with the triple stitched zig-zag brim!
Nice! Good to see detail shots of one of these. Damn your eyes man! Now I want one...Peters Bros Hemp, another nice hat from Brad and Co.

Thanks!nice
great story, lovely aged look about the boater (-:This is always a favorite thread, but due to size restrictions, I am lucky if I post here annually. So today is it!
I am pleased to present, just in time for the end of straw season, a new-to-me Swiss-made yeddo boater; a gift to me this week from a gentleman who was my first semi-formal teacher of photography, back when I was a freshman in high school. I was fortunate to visit him for the first time in about 30 years. Ok, so we haven't been close, but both had a ton to talk about. This relic belonged to his Uncle Samuel Chandler of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, who bought the hat in 1930. As a boy, I used to buy single carnations from Sam's son who operated the greenhouse/florist shop in our town. I needed the points with my Mom...
Thank you, John!!!

Truth be told, this hat is a bit small for my noggin, but it shall remain in the collection in case I shrink.
And since this is the new hat thread, Here is my friend John with HIS new hat, a fine private label felt gifted by a now-geriatric former student of his.... ME!

it's the early Marathon logo ... I don't think it was used past the very early 50s ... could be wrong but that is what I have gathered in my studiesI was wondering about that. It's not a liner I'm familiar with.
