Great hat, Karl. I was just talking to my wife about one of those for my birthday. She isn't keen on the BGG, but I think it has more potential. She is stuck on the green aspect and not it's ability to be versatile. I have enjoyed my Father's day Akubras, and plan on getting many years of adventures out of them.

thanks, as it's a darker green, dunno... It's subtle, wearing it with other green clothing might bring out its greenness but otherwise...

Let me know if wearing blue brings out the blue more. Here in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, the sun really does make the grass have a blue hue to it.

BGCD - unsteamed as yet, still thinking about it. Just drycreased for this pic, then popped it back out. No rush. love it. Felt is not as stiff as I dreaded. No idea how the wind cord works, or where it goes, do you cut the loop?

ok, it arrived loose, i have now figured it out, which took far fecking longer than it should have, the simple logic bit of my brain must have gone in search for my liver and dripped down my spine at some stage. Thnks

It's difficult to describe the exact color, but it's one that does manage to go well with many others. It looks particularly great with a brown leather jacket (N.B. Aero Leather Clothing's brown CXL horsehide). Explain to your wife that such a hat would broaden your horizons, and then talk her into the jacket ("It'll last for generations! I'll never need another one!"). Both the hat and the jacket actually will give you great service.

Where did you order it from, Karl? Hatsdirect doesn't have it in BGG. Is it the deluxe?

It might not a new hat or hats. But is new (old) hat boxes. Found these two vintage Dobbs hat boxes in an antique store located at Trax Farms Market near Finleyville, PA. Can't get enough of Dobbs!
