Hello all! Hope everyone is having a great summer. I happened to be in Chicago last week and I couldn't resist. Ooooh the hat addiction.....

Beaver felt form their "vintage cellar collection" light gray black ribbon and bound edge.

The picture gives a hint to how nice a job was done on the hat body. Looks creamy to me. Nice hat and looking sharp as a razor on you!

Hey Bob,
While I was in Chicago I went to check your hat store Hats Plus. Very ineresting place. Lots of hats and caps. They still have a few canadian Biltmores left....It was certainly worth the visit. Always hard to leave a true hat store empty handed!

That's why I stay out of them... I also believe they have more Canadian Biltmores in their Denver warehouse. Lots of interesting Guerra Brand Italian hats too. I think most of that brand are made from FEPSA hare hat bodys.

Again great hat! You can snap the brim but this hat was probably worn with brim up and less forward side dents. Something like this.

Also, Dlaniger-- congrats on your Optimo! Seems to fit you perfectly. I had a chance last week to stop in to their downtown Chicago store (are there others? I believe they indicated they closed one only a few doors down in order to set up in that location) and the work really was sublime. And the lights and shadows were uber dramatic, so that probably helps!

We here have had to refrain so far, from the journey to Optimo. Prices are a scary thing and then if you wanted a few of them, second mortgage time on the home! But yes they make a super nice hat. We had one come from a eBay sale a few years back, but, it was a 7 3/8 and too small...

Another amazing hat for you! My Husband and I both think the majority of your hats are so nice they should be on display in a Historical Museum for Hats. We have one hat some where here that would win the "ugly hat award" and have been thinking we should send it to you just so we can know you have one hat that is not so darned beautiful! Haha! To date each and every single hat you have shown and shared just makes us want on in our sizes!

Love the hat in your avatar...it has so many nice elements to it, the crown seems high and the way you have it bashed just adds to the attraction of the hat so very much. I keep looking for one similar or exact in a 7 1/2 LO and just can't find one!
