Then this beautiful Borsalino mid ribbon.
I've never laid my hands on felt this soft... I'm sure many of you have... I have not.. And I have many soft vintage hats but this is different .
Almost too soft and will probably take some getting used to ... feels like the bash will change if the wind blows .
Absolutely gorgeous piece.
Very plush like velour... Almost velvet feel to it... And what looks like discoloration in the pics is just that velour type finish changing with the light depending on what direction the fibers are wiped.

I made this video as an attempt to display what this hat feels like

Then finally this gorgeous Borsalino.
Not quite as soft as the previous... but absolutely amazing none the less

Fantastic Anthony! It looks great among your hat boxes. Can't wait to see it atop your head.

The Borsalinos look exquisite. Wow!

Yeah, happy birthday Harv! I saw that on the ig this morning. Sweet present you got!

Moon, nice scores! And I'm with you on the Borsalino. I only have one, and I'm very grateful to have it, but the felt is so soft and light and it creases so easily that sometimes I worry what I have on my head even looks like. It definitely feels like, as you said, a strong wind could change the shape of it, and if you accidentally whap the car door or a tree limb or something it's definitely time to take it off and fix it.

absolutely

I worked out a bash I like last night then hit it with some steam ... it seemed to ever so slightly give it some sturdiness ... not really ... but at least the bash held

I don't want it to sound like I am complaining ... the hat is mind blowing ... but it will take some getting used to ... I am known to whack the crown while getting in the car ... Akubra = no problem ... this hat = complete reshaping time :)

Steve beautiful topper

Harv happy born day my man ... I hope your day is filled with laughter, fast cars, family and hats

Looking a bit better and my wife has enjoyed wearing it. I need to deal with creases still left in front and back. Not sure how to do that without a block. Perhaps if I get it completely wet ...

sweet hat... lots of character

if the felt is soft ... I have had great success with a balloon filled with water before I had a couple blocks

plus with the balloon you can get it to the exact size you need

be sure to use helium grade balloons ... regular ones may burst inside your hat

I would take out the lining and stretch the hat over the balloon ... steam it .. and just massage over the creases ... gone

Sounds like you guys are talking about my favorite hat the Tardy 25

Made a little HD-video test, but I guess the liner is helping supporting the weight

How thin/light is the Borsalinos? The Tardy is 92 grams (3.1/4 ounces) fully lined etc.

ah.... never did that ... always just went raw dog ...

never had a problem ... but always anticipated one ... ha!!

probably why I dropped some loot to get a couple actual blocks

I've only used the balloon in a pinch a couple times to remove a few creases

I also once used one of those rubber supermarket balls ... that worked as well
