When it comes to eBay hats, I often look for ones that are lesser known brands just to see what's out there other than Stetsons and Borsos and Dobbs (oh my!). Kind of a moneyball strategy, as a lot of these are also more affordable. Sometimes it pays off, like with my ten dollar Lembert. Actually, I haven't bought a hat like this that I was unhappy with, just happier with some.
This Byron sat in my watch list for quite a while, with an opening bid of $9 and no takers. I had seen the name on The Hatted Professor's site, albeit in the not-yet-fleshed-out part, and decided to take a chance and place the minimum bid. Won it, and it arrived today. 1 3/4" brim,4 1/4" crown with this telescope.

No taggage or other info under the sweat or under the liner. The felt is nice and soft, and the overwelt looks good on it. I'm not going to leave this crease in it.
If anyone has knowledge of this brand, please share!

Dang it, meant to post this one instead of the other one twice.

I decided to keep the crown shape the same. It has a bit of taper front to back that just looks best minimized in the telescope. The felt shapes really easily dry, seems to be of good quality. Barely stiff at all.
I'd say worth the price!

Moon, Harv and others thanks for the comments and all the likes. I've long been on the lookout for one of these and when it presented itself on OFAS with a BIN price I couldn't resist, I didn't. I don't think the hat has been worn and considering the prices these have gone for lately, I feel good about it, especially considering the condition.

On the other hand, it may forever be known as my DV (domestic violence) hat as the delivery box was discovered before my plan of action was in place. Now, the only issue is deciding which pair of DV boots to pair it with.

This hat has been on the lounge before. It's a new to me early 50's Stratoliner courtesy of my lounge friend Moontheloon. I just got it and the color cast of my cellphone photo is a little off. The felt on this hat is wonderful!
