Verdeo, I have the same problem with sizing. I'm a 63 (7 7/8) and have bought a Stetson and a Borsolino in 7 3/4. Both came a tiny bit larger but soon shrank down to that point where they're just a bit tight, and when that happens I seldom wear them. Borsolinos I've lost interest in and Stetsons only produce two styles in 7 7/8, both of which you can get from a custom maker for roughly the same price or even less. I've also found that Akubra (who produce the Campdraft and Fed IV models in 7 7/8), and Peters Bros. in Ft. Worth who make essentially custom hats in the larger sizes and at reasonable prices, also come in a bit large, but that's a very good thing because when they shrink down (and they will) they fit perfectly.
