New arrival from my favorite store.

Absolutely gorgeous, Alan!! The absolute quintessential style from the first decade or two of the 20th century. I love those early up-brims!! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Neat! i intercepted another box without anyone noticing and giving me that "What Another hat?" speech.
Resistol 5X 3 -3/4"brim about 6 in open, perhaps late 70s in "crystal" really silverbelly

I'd say it's a Resistol quarter horse model, I have one in felt and two in straw ( QH Hickock model ) all with with 4" brims., they are creased to 5 1/2" My other quarter horse is a custom Mackey . I don't know the vintage of your hat but I believe they are still being produced. Great hat Ingineer.

Bama & Roger those hats are awesome!!!!

Ingineer I think the crease looks great the way you have it.
I love a subtle crease like that ... Works very well on a cattleman

Was checking out a Goodwill store for some Halloween costume supplies and ran across this Biltmore for $3.79. Needs a ribbon, but the quality of the felt tells me the cost of the ribbon will be worth it. I don't have a flange, but will do my best to re-shape it after I tack on a steel-grey ribbon.

Sorry for the blurry images. The solid black makes it difficult to get a good pic.

The hat looks much better after having a new ribbon installed and a touch of steam applied. I need to go back and lower the ribbon about a 1/4 inch, but it'll do for now.

A look under the sweat revealed an '8' in white grease pencil, but nothing else. Produced in '08, perhaps?

Nice little Biltmore. One thing I noticed about my 70's one is even though they skimped on the sweat and liner quality, the felt is really nice, and the ribbon and brim binding were very nicely done. I guess they only cheapened what the public doesn't see when you wear it.
