YEEEEHAAAA! My new Porkpie has arrived from Art....... beautiful, fits like a glove, or er, a custom made hat.;)
Will post pics tomorrow in the http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?28705-Show-off-your-Porkpies&highlight=overwelt thread, as I'm working tonight, and don't have time ATM.
But if you can picture Art's 'Sly' hat in a Porkpie style, with 1 1/2 inch brim... well, that should whet your appetite for now!! Super Stoked!! OK, here are some pics... Art Porkie0.jpg Art Porkie1.jpg Art Porkie2.jpg Art Porkie3.jpg Art Porkie4.jpg Art Porkie5.jpg

I just got this Knox Fifteen today! I love the the 2'' brim on it. The color is also great. This is also my first fifteen hat! I had to steam and reshape the center dent on the crown and the brim. It looks fantastic!

Admittedly, I haven't seen a lot of "back bow" hats, but this is the first one I've seen with that "X" stitching on the bow. Was that common?

To be clear, I only ask because I want to learn. I don't think it detracts from the beauty of the hat at all; in fact, I rather like it!

Well what read online is that back bows are a 50's type deal on hats. So that's probably why most back bows are 50's. I believe the hat that I showed above is 50's. And the ''X'' on the bow is (I think) more common than the no "X".

...And the ''X'' on the bow is (I think) more common than the no "X". *snip* I had one that didn't have an "X". I never ever see them with out one.
I've had the X stitching on every back bow I've ever had.
Perhaps the hats I've seen had them, but the stitching was color matched to the ribbon so the "X" stitching didn't stand out enough for me to notice; I'll have to pay closer attention from now on. Thank you Gents! :yo:
