On a whim, today I wandered into an antique mall nearby that I have not been to in months. And for a song, I walked out with my first Open Road. It is a 4X.

I am not particularly fond of the cattleman's crown. After a little visit to the stove for some quality time with some steam and voila! Here's what we have:

I suspect that it will be one of my favorites.

Any opinions as to age?

Stetson Diamond

Just picked up this Stetson Diamond today. Just needs to be cleaned up a bit and has a moth bite on the top of the crown but is in otherwise good condition. I haven't ran across this particular model before but I'm sure someone on the lounge has. If anyone can give me some information of the Stetson Diamond and the time frame it was likely made I would be glad to hear from you. I'm thinking early 40s. It has a 2 3/4" brim with grosgrain bound edge and a 5 3/4" open crown which is wrapped in a 1 1/2" grosgrain ribbon. The inside is a bit soiled but I think it will clean up nicely. I think the number stamped on the size tag is "314" but it could possibly be "814."

Seabass love the Vita Felt. I picked up a Stetson Imperial Vita Felt which I posted on this thread. First one I've owned. Exceptional felt quality. Still wish I could find some info on the Stetson Diamond.

Got this 20x beaver Stetson. How old can it be? It came to my mind it might be a modern Stetson. Felt is different to the touch from the 20x beaver Black Gold Resistol and from the 20x beaver Beaver Brand hat...

Looks good Joao.

New arrival for me - a wide (3") brimmed Huckel Tim/Liddleman spotted on ebay.uk. Impossible to photograph well with flash, but a daylight head shot will follow...

Presumably it was made for the defunch Hornet Hats shop.

Joao--nice Stetson

Richard--love that gray

It's too cold to wear it out, so maybe that's why I got it for a steal.

Mallory Milan. Nice tight weave, clean and springy.

g.durand, Great Mallory Milan! Really like the Pug!

Richard, Super Hückel! If possible can you post a photo of the liner and sweatband? It's definitely a TONAK but I am not sure on the dating.
