I had been watching this Homburg for a few days and decided to pull the trigger .
I could not resist it at that price .
Look's like it need's a good steam bath and a good brushing and hopefully that should straighten it right out .

Will post more pictures when it arrives .

Fur and loathing in Las Vegas

Afternoon Gents,
I used to post here on occasion but I think my account got deleted due to the vast length of time it's been since I posted last. Anyhow, I was out to some antique/vintage stores this last Saturday and picked up this Dobbs Sixteen-Fifty long hair.

And one shot of me wearing it for good measure..

It's an absolutely wonderful hat, very, very, soft; and it's one of only two hats I've seen that actually has the logo embroidered on the liner and not stamped or whatnot. Any ideas as to the age of this thing?

Superb hat Roan. I like the stitched logo. I'm not that great with hat dating, but I'm sure someone here could give you a good ballpark. My guess is 40's vintage.

Would you believe I actually had to choose which hats I had to leave on the shelf at the antique shop today? Such a rare thing!

I did NOT buy the heathered overwelt Mallory, or the stingy but full crowned resistol brown backbow homburg, though they were both perfect fits an in impeccable condition...

But I did leave with these two borsalinos of high caliber! Resistance was indeed futile.

The brown one is a trionfo, and the grey mid ribbon one is marque grand luxe! I'm so excited about these!
