Pop Up Ads between forums - is this new?

Hello, I've been absent a lot lately, really busy in life currently.

So these ads keep centering on my screen as I go between the forums & classifieds, etc. They will not always easily close either.
Not meaning to complain, I know that advertises are needed. Just finding them a little odd, was curious if it is a setting I need to adjust.
Thanks to all you do Moderators - @Peacoat @Edward

Yeah, full screen ads do pop up for me as well, usually right after I click on the first thread I want to read once I log into the forum but there's always a large X in the upper right corner which, surprisingly enough, closes them down immediately. But I only get them on my phone.

I only use a laptop for FL and most other Internet activity.
Thanks Peacoat for looking into this!

Thank you. I’ve tried AD blockers in the past and they don’t seem to work on this site. I’ll give this one a go.

The pop ups ruin the engagement IMHO.
For completeness, using it on an iPhone with Safari (not sure if it works as well if using chrome). Zero ads guaranteed.

I haven't noticed ads but do well with blockers.

Desktop/laptop browsers: uBlock origin does a treat

Phone: like @Mickiemac recommended above for desktop, AdGuard DNS works for mobile. In Android, generally go to Settings > Network & internet > Private DNS, enter "dns.adguard.com"

Since we are running things back to the software gurus— I can’t upload more than one photo at a time into a post. If I try to update a few it will update multiple copies of the first photo. I have to upload photos into a post one at a time. Thanks.

I'm up for a modest fee, but also suggest some type of revenue from the classified ads. The return from the leather jacket trade alone would go a long way to funding the site.

It's starting to feel like photobucket when they went nuts with their ads. I'm especially disliking the full screen ads that seem to pop up almost every time I click on something.

I'm willing to pay a yearly fee to be rid of the ads.
