You can never have only one!

I wish I could be one of those guys who picked up a GMT-Master from the PX in the 70s and never took it off.

(Mind you, at least part of that isn't because of hobby tendencies or greed, or even how affordable they were then. New watches with their blingy trims and finishes designed to never age will never end up evolving with the wearer even as an only watch.)

I think with a little tone up around the middle, your jacket would fit perfect. Nothing like a slightly snug new leather to help renew your fitness goals.

I really like the 642 and 643 patterns and prefer the look of the silver hardware over the bronze on the 689. I’m wearing a 44 in most things these days and have kind of long arms so I haven’t dared going down the Schott Japan road.

Yes. I’ve entertained the idea of getting a NOS mid-80s Pepsi for a long time. In the end I couldn’t get myself to pay the mark-up on the current model…

Yeah I’ve often thought the same. Takes you out of a bit when you realize that the inflation adjusted price of Rolex sports watches through the 90s is cheaper than Tudor’s price point today! (It’s actually even lower than that because before 2010, it was extremely common to receive a big discount when buying, but my comparison is of retail price.)

True this! Bought an new Explorer II in or around 2012 and got 10% off. In 1995, a Pepsi was still under EUR 3.000. AND you could just walk into a shop and buy it. It’s now EUR 11.000. Theoretically… ;)

And it didn’t have a movement that even Rolex employed watchmakers say is a ticking time bomb… :D

Hi everyone! Even though I always check this forum for advice and comments, I finally registered and this will my first post. So I remember wearing leather jackets since I was a teenager and I never worried about how they fit on me or which hide they were. As long as I was comfortable that was fair enough for me. Now, in my 40s, I do care lol. So I bought this jacket on eBay, Schott 643 (for Japanese market), which was basically new. It fits good in my opinion, but I want some feedback from you guys. The back looks weird for me, so I don't know if this will break-in eventually and drape or if this is a bad fit (maybe too long?). For reference, I'm between 5'7"-5'8", 165lbs (I'm usually 158lb but I have not exercised at all for 9 months due to a surgery). The jacket is size 38 and I usually wear size 38 on suits (although now because of my weight I may be 39-40 since 38 now feels a little tight on my suit jackets). I would really appreciate your feedback! Thanks in advance.
Hmm. Well in my completely honest opinion, the jacket is a bit small on you. Like, there is absolutely no room for "change." It looks like it's a little bit snug on your belly. So if you gain even just a few pounds for whatever reason, you might find it to feel too tight, and the jacket will make that extra poundage even more obvious, both in the belly and in the love handle area. Plus you put a bit too much strain on the zipper. Plus, because the waist area is already so tight, it's kinda causing your butt to look like it's jutting out a bit.

But that's just the experience of an overweight person talking though, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. It may not fit you quite right, but I can tell at a glance that it's a quality product.

Thanks for your comment. Believe it or not I have lost some weight since I made this post. The belly part is not that tight anymore, but I agree the jacket may be too small for me. I'm still keeping it because I don't think it's worth selling it since I didn't pay that much for it. I even feel now that the jacket is a little looser for some reason.

On another note, I was in NY last weekend and I had the opportunity to try some jackets at Schott store. I took the advice of @Aloysius and tried on the 689H jacket. He was right, it is a very nice jacket! The guy at Schott though told me they ran a little bigger (even though the website says the opposite), so he made me try the size 38 and size 36, and honestly size 36 fitted better than the 38. I also tried 641HH and size 38 was ok (just like 36 on 689H). The size 40 on 641HH was way too big, and size 38 on 689H was also roomy.
