Please help with hookless zipper problem.

Hi, everyone

I received a jacket ordered from Aero last week and had problems with the zipper from the start.
Due to the problem of zipper teeth, the bottom part is not completely locked and the jacket is opened.
Anyone Is there a case that solved this problem?
I contacted Aero but have no feedback yet.

Sorry to say this but the zipper is faulty. Replacement is usually the only option.

Agreed, the teeth look badly spaced, changing the slider won't make a difference.
Considering this is a riveted zipper i wonder how easy it is to change without visible signs of the surgery?
If you were in the EU i would say send it back and ask for a remake as you received a defective product.
As you are in Korea i don't know what the law is and if you are protected, but Aero should make it right. Good luck.

(surprised this wasn't picked up by QC, there is no way this zipper ever closed properly!)

My Cafe Racer had a Hookless zipper as well which got replaced by an YKK at some point since I sold it. Now that I've gotten the jacket back, I can see that the rivets were cleanly removed but the tiny holes remain.
I guess the best way to go about it is to install an equally sized eyeholes. They wouldn't serve any purpose of course but visually, it should look the same like when the jacket still had Hookless.

A very good machinist should be able to change the zipper leaving zero trace, going through the same holes as the ones created when the original zipper was stitched in and do an almost invisible zipper change.
The problem arises when a not so good machinist tries that, and leaves empty stitch holes and new stitch holes everywhere.
Personally this kind of things drives me insane, i cannot tolerate a bad zipper replacement, especially on a brand new leather jacket.
I have had a zipper go bad in the past on a brand new jacket, the maker said they would change it but couldn't guarantee it would be invisible.
That wasn't good enough for me, i insisted on getting a remake, and got one. IMO this was the right thing to do, i paid for a new jacket with a new zipper, not a new jacket with a bad zipper job.

On the other hand, i received my LW J-23 with a slight cut in a front panel. Stuart guaranteed me he could replace the panel without leaving any trace it was ever done, he was right, the jacket came back looking like nothing had ever been done to it.

It's a tough call, there are very few people i would trust to do a zipper change, considering the cost of shipping both ways, and the possibilities of getting a less than perfect jacket back i don't know what i would do in your situation.

I replaced the hookless on your cafe racer. Hookless broke on me. I needed a bigger zipper and wish you a lifetime of problem free zipping with that brass #10 . Sorry about the tiny holes, the machinist could not do anything about those because of the rivets.

A good solution would be to just put new brass eyelets in, they are super cheap on eBay...

I much prefer it this way. Like, infinitely. I remember how much trouble zipping up that tinyass zipper was when I got the jacket. And the metal inserts machinist installed at the front look great.

^This! One tooth is missing. This should be a no brainer. Repair or replace the jacket. If it came to you this way it’s literally impossible it ever closed.
I have to wonder why it took 5 months to discover. I had a hookless. Was a bit of a PIA but not terrible. If mine came like this it would’ve been boxed up as a return in under 5 minutes.
Edit: you waited 5 months for the jacket. Disregard my last couple sentences but put the others in high regard. This needs to be replaced and not at your expense.

The production took a long time.
This zipper problem was discovered the same day after DHL received the international delivery. (Received last Thursday)
I hope the issue is well handled. Thanks for the comment.
