I bought (another) cafe racer this morning - smuggled it into the house under my N3B and so far I’m in the clear. I’m not exactly sure of the maker or the age? - any suggestions would be welcome. The main zipper is a Talon as are the sleeve zippers and the pocket zippers are Falcon. It’s barely been worn - no smells the paper pocket tags are intact and the brassware is shiny. Update - Liz has just realised it’s new - maybe I should have taken it off instead of standing in front of the mirror admiring it?

This is exactly like the jacket I bought off of the bay recently. Mine has Ideal brand zippers though. Best I could find, it was made by Fidelity Leathers out of Boston, Mass. I love mine ! You sound like me sneeking into the house! Hope this helps and that darn bug bites us all when we follow this site!

Never could understand the enjoyment that some seem to feel by sneaking things into the house past their Wife. Reminds me of a Mother and her kid. Why some men find this humorous is beyond me.o_O
I have been guilty of this kind of sneaking around myself a time or two, back when I was still married. Once the jacket is inside the house, surrounded by a plethora of seemingly identical leather jackets, detection is almost impossible.
I think you are correct as to why you got caught robinray, admiring yourself in the mirror was a rookie mistake!
No idea as to who made the jacket, but it looks like a nice one. Congratulations!

Well then fill me in...Why does a grown man ever feel the need to sneak anything into his house or fear detection by his Wife..?? I was married for 38 years and never had a thought that I should hide or maneuver something behind her back.

It’s not a devious thing - sneaking - it’s just a bit of fun. When she asked I just said
“No love, I’ve had it for ages just like your new handbag etc. etc.” Like many women her standard response to being asked about new clothes etc. is a smiling “I’ve had it for ages”

I sometimes sneak stuff into the house for fear of the quid pro quo from the wife. The next time she returns from shopping it is with 10 bags rather than the usual five.

Thank you - it’s well made with high quality leather and hardware. I love the style - it fits my shape well and I’ve found plenty more (if anyone is interested), on eBay at great prices. This brand seems to be unfairly underrated and deserves checking out - imho it eclipses the vintage Lesco, Brooks and Schott cafe-racers I’ve had through my hands.
